By Jinnie. This is a collection of recipes for Jar Gifts like you see for sale at craft shows and specialty shops. No need to pay the high price these trendy and popular mixes carry. All it takes are just a few basic ingredients, a home made card with instructions, and a small flourish of creativity and you can make them yourself!

These recipes have been gathered from all over the web. Some of the recipes were posted to a bulletin board I used to be active on; it has since been shut down..

You will find this to be a useful collection of recipes that you can put together in a jar for gift giving. Jars like these carry a large price tag when you find them at craft fairs and specialty shops They make lovely gifts for any occasion.

Use canning jars for the mixes and decorate them for gift giving. Cut a piece of fabric in an 8 inch circle. (Pinking shears make a nice edge.) and place the flat lid on the jar Secure the fabric to the lid with a rubber band or use the canning jar ring. Print or write the directions on a small card. Attach to the jar with a ribbon or raffia. Package several jars together in a basket to complete a meal or a special theme.

If you dont have jars you can place the ingredients in a zip-loc bag and then in a white lunch bag and print lables including the recipe instructions on your computer. Then fold the top of the bag down about an inch and punch two holes about an inch apart in the center of the folded area. Thread a ribbon through and tie a bow. Simple!

You could even just mix them up in a zip bag, lable the bag, and place them on your own pantry shelf for personal use. What a nice way to pamper yourself!
